Nine Digital Prints on Hot Press paper, 8"X13", 2016
Social Media has become a part of our daily routines. Wake up, log in, post, comment, like, tweet, share, sleep, repeat. What happens when you multiply that by 8 years? This series of digital prints captures every single personal and public post made to my personal Facebook page since September 2nd, 2008 to February 16th, 2016. Organized by year, each post was laid over one another revealing the visual mass of information that has been freely submitted by myself. These compilations bring together moments from across time into a singular existence. By removing the barrier of the computer screen, the physicality of the digital platform is highlighted, creating an illusion to an object or document that has been scanned improperly, or moved too quickly to create a clear image.
∧3064 uses the layering of information to propose questions about the passage of time, the information we submit to the internet, what we leave behind, and addresses the physicality of the digital technologies age.
